Glucose Screening

Yesterday I went and had my glucose screening. After I drank the sweet stuff, I had to wait an hour before my blood could be drawn. During that time, Baby P. was going crazy. It felt like it was performing a gymnastics routine in my belly! My doctor said that she would only call me if I didn't pass the test, so I figure if I don't hear from her in about a week, all is good.

24 week Appointment

On Monday, I had my 24 week appointment. The doctor said that everything looks good. However, I am not holding my breath that I will get the second ultrasound. The last appointment I was at I saw a different doctor in the practice, not my primary doc. My primary doc said this time that she wasn't sure it was necessary to have the second the ultrasound. She said that they couldn't get a good transverse shot of the umbilical cord to see if it had two or three vessels. If it were a two vessel cord it mean that there were some complications with the urinary tract or kidneys, but she said measurements of those areas were all normal, so she wasn't really concerned about a it. She said we could talk more about it at my next appointment. However at my next appointment in June I will being seeing yet a different doctor in the practice. So who knows what her take on the situation will be. I will ask again, but am not holding out too much hope. The ultrasound wouldn't take place until around 32 weeks anyway. So, in the meantime, I am just planning for a surprise at birth. I guess that means Geoff and I will have to pick out two names. Other than that, my stomach continues to grow and the baby is starting to pack some pretty powerful kicks and punches.

Chloe's Birthday!

Yesterday was Chloe's birthday! She turned two! She celebrated by having a Frosty Paw treat and she got a new toy and bone! Overall, I think she was one happy dog!
