Frustrated Baby

For some reason today, Kaelyn has been a little fussier than usual. Not sure if her teeth are bothering her since the drool has been nonstop and she is gnawing at anything she can her hands on. Even though I still don't feel any teeth yet. I took this video of her sitting up by herself while taking out her frustration on a washcloth. She was probably too frustrated to realize she was sitting by herself...

Hey, that's not how mommy left you!

Kaelyn continues to explore her surroundings and is constantly rolling over onto her tummy. Even though she isn't always happy once she gets there. Whenever I put her down and turn my head for one second she has put herself in a new position. I had left her the crib one afternoon to take Chloe out and to get the mail. When I put her down in the crib, she was on her back playing with her feet. The first picture shows how I found her upon my return. She had rolled onto her tummy, maneuvered her legs through the slats and put the pacifier in her mouth! Then a few days later we were practicing sitting up (she is starting to get better at it). I had her sitting up in my pregnancy pillow. I left for a second to get a kleenex and when I came back she had put herself in this position. She was quite proud of herself both times. She is quite the active baby and I am afraid it won't be too long before she is mobile and I am chasing her all around the house.

More solids!

We continue to plug away at solid foods. I think she might finally be starting to get the hang of it. Since she wasn't extremely fond of the rice cereal, so we have moved on to new things. She has currently tried applesauce and sweet potatoes. As you can tell, she is quite the messy eater! Must take after her dad:) I am making her food, so we are trying new things slowly, as school and taking care of Kaelyn keep me busy and don't leave a lot of time for cooking.

Are those teeth ever going to come in?????

Kaelyn's two favorite past times these days are eating her socks and chewing on everything in sight. She especially loves to chew on Sophie the Giraffe! Sophie was a gift from a good friend and I don't know what we would do without her! Unfortunately, Chloe also thinks that Sophie is her chew toy so we have to make sure that we keep her away from Chloe!

Rice Cereal

Here is the video of Kaelyn's first experience with rice cereal. Sorry the video is so dark.

Rice Ceral

We gave Kaelyn rice cereal for the first time today. She wasn't quite sure about it and made some very funny faces, but she didn't seem to not want to try eating it. Of course more of it ended up on her than in her mouth, but we will keep trying every day until she gets the hang of it!

Rolling over Part 2

We finally caught Kaelyn rolling over on video. She is constantly rolling over from her back to her tummy now. She can roll back the other way, but hasn't quite figured that out yet and can get very frustrated after a little while on her tummy. We call her our rolly polly rolling machine!
